Reading an LVP spec sheet before you buy
Wear layer, core type, and overall thickness tell you almost everything about how an LVP product will perform in a humid, high-traffic Florida home. We'll translate the spec sheet during your consultation so you're not guessing.

Click-lock LVP floats above the slab, goes in quickly, and is simple to repair plank-by-plank if something ever gets damaged. Glue-down LVP bonds directly to the concrete, feels more solid, and resists shifting in large open-concept spaces or commercial units. Since every home here sits on a slab rather than a wood subfloor, we'll walk the room with you and recommend whichever method fits your layout and moisture readings best - we install both.
Installation that respects the slab underneath
A good LVP install lives or dies on slab prep. We test for moisture, grind down high spots, fill low ones, and use the underlayment the manufacturer requires for a Florida climate. Our crews also handle custom stair nosings, baseboard removal and reinstallation, and full removal of your old carpet or laminate, so the only thing you have to do is pick the plank. Luxury Vinyl Plank - frequently asked questions
It's one of the best options for it. LVP handles a concrete subfloor without the acclimation issues wood flooring can have, and it stays comfortable underfoot even when the slab runs cool from the AC.
The wear layer resists scratching well, but sand and claws are tougher on cheaper planks. For households tracking in beach sand daily, we recommend at least a 20 mil wear layer.
A 22-mil-plus wear layer typically lasts 20-25 years in a home, even with our humidity and heat. Commercial-rated LVP can stretch to 25-30 years.
